Dorchester Children’s Advocacy Center is a Nationally Accredited Children’s Advocacy Center. As a children’s advocacy center we provide a coordinated, evidence-based response to child abuse that reduces trauma and provides treatment for the children and families in our community in a safe child-focused environment. We are currently hiring for the following positions:

 

Forensic Interviewer/Therapist

We are opening a second location soon in Berkeley County, which will be the Berkeley Children’s Advocacy Center. This position will initially be stationed in our Summerville office and after training will be stationed in our Moncks Corner location. We are seeking a full-time, dual position, of Child Therapist and Forensic Interviewer to conduct forensic interviews and provide trauma-focused mental health assessments and treatment to children and families. This individual will be trained in a nationally recognized forensic interview protocol and evidence-based treatment models designed to assess and treat child traumatic stress.

A master’s degree in social work or clinical counseling and knowledge of child abuse dynamics and community resources is required. This position requires the employee to have a licensed eligible degree and to become licensed within the first year of employment.

Intake Coordinator

We are seeking a full-time Intake Coordinator to collaborate with investigating agencies, triage client referrals, and engage in initial trauma-informed contact with clients for the purpose of scheduling appointments and case-coordination. This position requires case-data consistency and adherence to SC mandated reporting laws.

A bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field is required. Knowledge of child abuse dynamics and community resources, as well as experience in working with victims of crime, is also valued.
